Stainless Steel Water Heater Manufacturer Streamlines Operations

Heat-flo Inc., of Uxbridge, MA, makes high-quality, easy-to-install stainless steel water heaters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

The business had no tools for purchasing, forecasting, and capturing inventory data until Joe Pichette became their Inventory Control Manager. He built an inventory database to use alongside QuickBooks. But, as the company grew, they recognized they needed a system to reduce manual efforts and double-entry.

Heat-flo began looking at ERP systems and selected OptiProERP with SAP Business One. It provided a single, end-to-end business solution that integrated all departments, including production. OptiProERP allowed them to automate and streamline their entire operations.

Water heater maker Heat-flo Inc. had been relying on spreadsheets to track its manufacturing processes. But, as the company grew, transferring data into QuickBooks and maintaining data accuracy became more challenging.

Heat-flo evaluated NetSuite, Sage Intacct, DELMIAWorks, and OptiProERP before narrowing it down to DELMIAWorks and OptiProERP. They ultimately chose OptiProERP because it included the modules they needed without add-ons.

Heat-flo no longer has to deal with double-entry and has seen significant time savings. They now track work in progress, which was critical to improving productivity, and have inventory visibility for reduced count times and increased accuracy. Heat-flo’s management can make better-informed decisions with greater visibility of operational data.
